Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer

Overview Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is looking for a Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer to join its Transportation Engineering team in Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; or Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on traffic operations analysis and modeling, with opportunities to work on capacity, safety, planning, and feasibility studies. Responsibilities Conduct traffic operational analysis using a variety of modeling tools. Support design solutions and operational improvements through analytical work. Perform crash data analysis and safety studies for intersections and corridors. Prepare summary tables, sketches, exhibits, and technical reports to communicate findings. Tabulate, process, and deliver traffic data collection outputs. Conduct on‑site field investigations when required. Communicate and collaborate within a team environment. Work independently and supervise junior staff. Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with 6‑12 years of traffic engineering experience. Engineer in Training (EIT) required; Professional Engineer (PE) or PTOE is a plus. Strong understanding of traffic analysis concepts and experience with traffic model development. Proficiency with Synchro, SimTraffic, Warrants, SIDRA, HCS, and related tools. Working knowledge of roadway design principles and familiarity with MUTCD, ITE, FHWA, and AASHTO manuals. Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is a plus. Excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills; positive attitude and teamwork orientation.
