Registered Nurse - Transplant Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day shift)

As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN Transplant Coordinator works within the Scope of Practice as defined by Washington State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies, procedures, and guidelines of care. The RN is responsible for providing safe, family‑centered patient care and for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. The coordinator also manages clinical aspects of solid organ transplant patient care from evaluation through and after transplantation, and may supervise and delegate tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Medical Assistants. In accordance with House Bill 1155 (effective January 1, 2020), certain clinical areas have unpredictable needs, and nurses in these areas—including Apheresis, Cardiac Cath Lab, Dialysis, ECMO, Home Care Services, Imaging Services (including GI Procedures), Perioperative Services, and Transplant Coordinators—have a call obligation. Required Education And Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Must have a driving record acceptable to Risk Management. Required Credentials Current Washington State RN License. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accepted in lieu of BLS. ACLS not accepted as a substitute. Nurses in the following areas must obtain and maintain PALS within specific time frames: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit; Cath Lab & Special Procedures; Clinical Research Center; Critical Care Float; Emergency Department; Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; Pediatric Intensive Care Unit; Pediatric Transport Control; Radiology (including Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy Lab); Recovery Room (PACU); Surgery (including Bellevue Surgery Center); Urgent Care (all locations). New graduate nurses in these areas are required to obtain PALS within 6 months of employment. Nurses in the Neonatal Transport Team must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification (in addition to PALS) within 3 months of employment. Any position that requires use of a motor vehicle will require a current Washington State Driver's license. Preferred Previous acute and/or ambulatory solid organ transplant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Case management experience. Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC). Compensation Range $51.60 - $91.30 per hour.
