Now you are ready for a position where you can use that experience to lead projects and help other installers improve.Hartzell Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking a Residential HVAC Lead Installer to oversee residential replacement and installation projects throughout the Aurora area.In this role, you will be trusted to organize the job, guide the installation crew, communicate with customers, and make sure the finished system meets Hartzell's standards for safety, performance, and craftsmanship.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive pay of $35-$48/hour, depending on experienceAvailable overtimeMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k)80 hours of paid time off after your first year7 paid holidaysConsistent work throughout the yearOpportunities to grow with an expanding local companyA Typical Day May IncludeReviewing the scope of work, equipment, materials, and job expectations before leaving for the projectAssigning tasks to installers, apprentices, or helpers based on their experience and the needs of the jobCompleting residential equipment changeouts and full-system installationsInstalling and connecting furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, indoor air quality products, and ductworkMaking field adjustments when job-site conditions differ from the original installation planChecking measurements, connections, airflow, drainage, electrical components, and overall system operationPerforming final start-up and commissioning proceduresInspecting the completed installation before the job is closedCoaching developing installers on safe techniques, quality standards, and efficient work practicesCommunicating project progress, concerns, or additional material needs to the appropriate team membersExplaining the completed system and basic operation to the homeownerEnsuring the crew protects the customer's property and leaves the work area cleanCompleting required job documentation accurately and on timeYou May Be a Strong Fit If YouHave several years of residential HVAC installation experienceAre comfortable taking responsibility for the quality and completion of an installationHave previously served as a lead installer, senior installer, or informal crew leaderKnow how to install and start up a variety of residential HVAC systemsCan recognize potential installation problems and develop practical solutionsCommunicate calmly and professionally with homeowners and coworkersCan give clear direction without losing your willingness to work alongside the crewUnderstand that leadership includes teaching, inspecting, and following throughStay organized while managing job-site priorities and changing conditionsTake pride in clean workmanship and professional presentationCan safely perform physically demanding work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environmentsHold an EPA CertificationBuild More Than HVAC SystemsAt Hartzell, the Lead Installer plays an important role in both the customer experience and the development of the installation team.
