You'll work with a broad network of funders and lenders while managing a pipeline of merchants seeking working capital solutions, including merchant cash advances, term financing, equipment financing, consolidations, reverse consolidations, and other business funding products.

About the Role

The Funding Manager serves as the primary merchant-facing advisor throughout the funding process.

After a Funding Specialist gathers the application and completes a warm handoff, you will take ownership of the merchant relationship. You'll guide business owners through underwriting, document collection, offer presentations, contract execution, and final funding while delivering a professional and consultative experience.

This role is ideal for individuals who are confident communicators, strong relationship builders, organized pipeline managers, and skilled at helping merchants evaluate funding options.

What You'll Do

Merchant Relationship Management

• Accept warm handoffs from Funding Specialists

• Contact newly assigned merchants promptly

• Reconfirm funding needs, business goals, revenue, existing positions, and funding timelines

• Build trust through consistent communication and follow-up

• Maintain engagement throughout the underwriting process

• Provide a professional and consultative customer experience

Funding Process Management

• Explain the underwriting, approval, contracting, and funding process

• Set clear expectations without guaranteeing approvals or specific terms

• Collect and manage additional underwriting documentation

• Coordinate with the Managing Funder regarding lender questions, approvals, declines, and deal strategy

• Keep merchants informed of status updates throughout the process

Offer Presentation & Consultation

• Review approved funding offers before merchant discussions

• Conduct professional offer-presentation calls

• Compare available options based on funding amount, proceeds, payment structure, term length, and cash-flow impact

• Help merchants understand available options and make informed decisions

• Handle objections professionally and negotiate within approved parameters

• Confirm selected offers and guide merchants through next steps

Contract & Funding Coordination

• Coordinate contract delivery and execution

• Obtain required signatures and supporting documentation

• Resolve outstanding stipulations

• Prepare merchants for lender verification and funding calls

• Monitor files through final approval and funding

• Confirm successful funding before closing opportunities

Pipeline & CRM Management

• Maintain accurate CRM notes, stages, and follow-up activities

• Track merchant communications and funding milestones

• Manage multiple active transactions simultaneously

• Follow up consistently on stalled opportunities

• Maintain relationships for renewals and future financing opportunities

Professionalism, transparency, and compliance are essential. Funding Managers must never misrepresent approvals, funding terms, or financing options.
