CHA provides 24-hour emergency care at its Cambridge, and Everett Hospitals. Highlights include a state-of-the-art patient triage and tracking system, a streamlined admission process that helps us get the sickest patients to a hospital bed sooner, rapid assessment protocol to help prioritize our work, a BIDMC tele-stroke program, and an integrated Psychiatric Emergency Services at Cambridge Hospital. 

The Emergency Department Unit Secretaryassists with the flow of patients in the Emergency Department. Work as a partner with other members of ED staff. Responsible for answering phones, contacting consult services, interacting with patients, families, and other CHA staff; stocking supplies, preparing for computer downtime and other duties as assigned. Able to work in a fast-paced, high stress area. Needs to be self-directed and personally responsible for the work that is done. 

Qualifications/Experience

High School graduate 

Knowledge and comfort with electronic medical record, customer service experience and ability to work in a busy stressful environment. 

Medical terminology and Emergency Department experience preferred. 

Previous Unit Secretary or administrative assistant experience strongly preferred.
