Job Summary

We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to support an Upstream portfolio of offerings that will accelerate growth for Patterson’s owned entities. Responsible for analyzing opportunity spaces, prioritizing growth areas and executing to develop and launch a pipeline.

This individual will lead with analytics, creating an understanding of competitive market position, market trends, financial parameters for success, nuances within channels and then define what Patterson could offer to differentiate and create value for customers and Patterson organization. This individual will be able to work individually to identify opportunities, while working with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and influence direction.

Essential Functions

Broader functional goals:

• Conduct deep analytics of opportunity spaces, using both internal and external data to define largest opportunities, leveraging various tools with AI, BI, Excel

• Define product / equipment specifications for success, making appropriate comparisons to marketplace offerings

• Work collaboratively with Procurement organization to define specifications and ensure alternatives offered are within desired specs

• Regularly work with the business teams to solicit input, collaborate to build consensus on launch offerings

• Work with the business unit Marketing teams to prepare and execute marketing campaigns to grow the house brands lines

• Create materials for key meetings such as annual sales meeting, new item presentation meetings, etc.

New item set up goals:

• Follow established QMS procedures to support private-label product setup and launch from sourcing approval through inventory availability.

• Provide vendors with the New Product Submission Form (NPSF), Patterson Brand Standards, and applicable documentation requirements.

• Collect completed NPSFs, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Instructions for Use (IFUs), and other required documentation, and deliver them to the appropriate internal recipients.

• Work with Category Management to ensure approved product, cost, pricing, packaging, and competitive information is submitted to the appropriate departments within required timelines.

• Submit approved product information through the established Product Submission workflow and track item-number creation. Develop labels with vendors.

• Submit required product documentation to the Regulatory team for evaluation and medical-device registration and listing verification.

• Work with Category Management and Supply Chain to ensure approved product data is available to support initial purchase orders, inventory planning, website.

• Maintain accurate documentation, follow up with vendors and internal partners, and escalate missing information or issues that may delay the established product-launch process.

• In partnership with Finance and Pricing, support profit and sales objectives to meet financial growth plans for portfolio expansion

• Ability to assist in running financial modeling

• Ability to make strategic and timely decisions and demonstrate good judgment

• Analyzes sales, feedback, and historical data to inform category strategies and product decisions

• Highly aware of the competitive market to identify and analyze trends while always staying abreast of competitor's product selection strategies

Communication/Presentation Skills

• Demonstrates strong executive communication skills both written and verbal

• Executive presence is required

• Ability to communicate with influence while adapting communication style and content based upon audience level, style, and situation - while consistently remaining confident and credible

• Ability to present effortlessly to both large and small groups in varying settings (team initiatives, offsite events, forums, etc.)

Required Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

• Highly analytical, adept on taking large elements of data, analyzing and turning into insights, action and outcomes

• Ability to quickly influence and establish relationships, gain credibility, trust and respect with peers, executives and brand partners

• Ability to develop category/brand strategies

• High performance standards

• Ability to approach portfolio development from a creative point of view, as well as a strategic and analytical one

• Four-year college degree required

• Based in MN or CO, hybrid in office. Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/knowledge of SAP, PowerBI, Excel modeling, AI tools, financial modeling, computer programming

• Experience developing and launching growth platforms, market research experience

• MBA

• Knowledge of the dental or medical market. For animal health, knowledge of the animal health market.

• 3+ years of leadership within Management Consulting or Marketing Innovation team

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.

$68,300.00 - $88,766.67
