Brief Job Overview The Program Manager is an individual‑contributor role in the Global Biologics Department of the Strategic Operations Function. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Program Manager will program‑manage ongoing internal projects and external collaborations that directly support biological standards development and release. Key duties include managing workplans, timelines, deliverables, and project transfers to ensure alignment with strategic goals for next‑generation biological standards across therapeutic areas. How you will create impact As part of USP’s mission to advance scientific rigor and public health standards, you will increase global access to high‑quality medicines through public standards and related programs. USP prioritizes scientific integrity, regulatory excellence, and evidence‑based decision‑making to ensure health systems worldwide rely on strong, tested, and globally relevant quality standards. Responsibilities Partner with global Biologics Leadership to drive programs to meet objectives and appropriately utilize resources. Build and manage workplans, timelines, deliverables, and project transfers, ensuring clear responsibilities across stakeholders and staff accountability. Create and deliver program dashboards (timeline, risk, dependencies, resource burn) and lead monthly/quarterly reviews. Anticipate and identify issues and challenges and manage resolution with team leaders. Collaborate with stakeholders across USP as needed to implement projects and apply data‑driven decision‑making principles. Implement a robust project‑management approach to fulfill responsibilities and identify process‑improvement opportunities. Leverage tools, technology, and platforms to efficiently and effectively manage projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience project‑managing multiple, complex projects in a life sciences industry or research environment. Experience supporting a diverse team with remote members. Strong writing and communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications Strong project lifecycle and project‑management knowledge and skills. Ability to use scientific knowledge to understand and deliver on scientific and business objectives. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Attention to detail while keeping the big picture in view. Ability to build effective work relationships and collaborate in a global setting. Ability to foster collaborative relationships with external partners and demonstrate relationship‑management skills. Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to mobilize stakeholders to results at all organizational levels. High comfort with navigating ambiguity and frequent change, and course‑adjusting in the moment. Demonstrated ability to distill project information and complexities into actions and meaningful outcomes. Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness with sound judgment. Strong influence, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills to drive program success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with audience‑appropriate awareness. Advanced critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Proficient in project‑management software use. PMP or related certification and demonstrated job application of knowledge is a plus.
