Completes nutritional assessments, prepares nutrition care plans, recommends nutritional therapies, and monitors the effectiveness of nutritional care. Provides nutrition education to promote improved health. Follows standard practices and complies with regulatory requirements. Conducts and participates in community education, marketing, and public relation efforts. Attends committee meetings as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Clinical Dietitian RequirementsEducationRequired - Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related fieldCompletion of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved Standards of EducationWork ExperienceRequired - 3 years Clinical work experience.CertificationsRequired - Registered Dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and DieteticsCurrent licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status within the state of practiceAdvanced certification recognized by the Academy of Nutrition and DieteticsKnowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.Strong interpersonal skills.Substantial knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition, nutrition support principles, counseling techniques, teaching and presentation skills.Excellent analytical skills to assess nutritional status and develop appropriate care plans based on problems identified.Excellent organization and prioritization skills to meet frequent deadlines.Ability to travel throughout facility.Job DutiesAssists in the day-to-day operations of the department such as training new employees, resolving issues and improving processes.Assesses patients' nutritional needs and prepares nutritional care plans.Provides nutritional education and counseling to patients.Documents records completely and accurately.Adapts behavior the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.Other related duties as required.This employer maintains and complies with its Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.
