Director of Membership Services

SUMMARY:

The Director of Membership Services is responsible for assigned aspects of PIIC membership services including planning and coordinating programming activities. The following programs and functions fall under the authority of Membership Services: Enrollment, Elder lunch program, Elder advocacy, and Education. The Membership Services Manager’s oversight and accountability include assigned facets of the daily operations, including, but not limited to, quality assurance; staff supervision and development; fiscal accountability; and comprehensive coordinating assigned activities of the department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the overall supervision, management and coordination of assigned Membership Services programs and functions. Plans, coordinates and attends programming, activities, meetings and related events for assigned Membership Services functions. Provides supervision, direction, support and development to assigned Membership Services staff. Develops, monitors and assists with departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities for assigned programs and functions. Assists with the monitoring of assigned budgets, expenditures, purchasing, invoices and fiscal accountability. Prepares, reviews and maintains reports, records, correspondence, files and other documentation related to assigned Membership Services programs and functions. Coordinates with Tribal Administration, department managers, committees and other appropriate parties regarding assigned Membership Services programs and activities. Assists in the development and implementation of comprehensive planning, organizing, scheduling, directing and coordinating assigned activities of the department. Ensures assigned programs and functions are carried out in compliance with applicable Tribal policies, procedures, funding requirements and applicable laws. Represents Membership Services in a professional manner at meetings, activities, events and other assigned functions. Attends meetings, training sessions and planning sessions as required. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, communications, human services, community development, or a related field preferred. Or a combination of education and professional experience in the field(s) of education, Tribal enrollment, or grant management. Minimum of eight (8) years of management experience in any of the following areas: administration, program coordination, and/or community services. Strong leadership and personnel management skills with the ability to establish staff member accountability and maintain a positive working environment. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to prepare reports and present technical information Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a management team and government structure Demonstrated ability to work respectfully within a Tribal government and Native American community Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability. Must pass drug screen and applicable background checks in compliance with Tribal policy and applicable law.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires repetitive use of fingers, hands and wrists for job-related duties, including telephone, computer and office equipment use. Must have complete range of motion, including fine motor skills and tactile sense of both hands. Must be able to sit for long periods of time with occasional standing or walking. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

REQUIRED TRAINING

Harassment training. Supervisory or management training as assigned. Any position-related training as required by your supervisor.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in an office setting but may include occasional outdoor activities, evening meetings, community events and special functions.
