Software Engineer - TikTok Ads Creator Monetization

Responsibilities

A "creative" is the ad (in the form of a short-form video) served to TikTok users, composed of video, background music, call-to-action card, post-click landing page, and other formats that get delivered to users. A quote goes "creativity is the soul of advertising", because a good ad creative is effective, yet difficult to produce, especially at the scale of TikTok advertising. The TikTok Ads Creative & Ecosystem team's mission is to solve the above dilemma, by building industry-leading tech solutions for ads creative/landing page understanding, production/generation, and optimization, to inspire and empower advertisers, creators, and other 3rd parties in the ecosystem to create and deliver the best engaging creative experiences to the end users. Our work is at the core of TikTok and creator monetization. Examples of our team's work include TikTok video editor, AI-powered smart video generation (we are also exploring AIGC), and TikTok creative exchange (a creative marketplace to connect TikTok advertisers with creators or third-party creative agencies). We are user/product oriented and dedicated to technical excellence. We aim to drive and lead the technology renovation in the ads tech and creative industry, powering products and driving values for our clients, creators, and the whole ecosystem. Contribute to the development of innovative products that support brand and influencer collaborations, utilizing core technical skills such as AI and content understanding. 2. Assist in executing strategic goals and providing technical support to drive business growth within TikTok ads and creator monetization. 3. Collaborate with senior team members to learn and develop technical leadership skills in the creative ecosystem. 4. Help design and implement key projects within the creator monetization ecosystem, under guidance from more experienced colleagues. 5. Participate in building scalable and reliable systems that support product objectives and requirements. 6. Support the creation of long-term technical roadmaps and contribute to ongoing technical decision-making. 7. Work closely with global R&D and product management teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to execute projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. 1+ years of experience as a software engineer with proven contributions to team-based projects, ideally in a collaborative or leadership role. 2. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. 3. Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java). 4. Passion for learning and exploring new technologies, with demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. 5. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within a team and take ownership of tasks. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Exposure to or experience in leading small teams or projects, with the ability to mentor peers or guide junior team members. 2. Familiarity with cross-region or distributed teams, with an understanding of the dynamics and challenges of remote collaboration. 3. Experience working with scalable systems or contributing to the design and development of production-level software. 4. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms or distributed systems (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure). 5. Interest in or experience with ad technologies, recommendation systems, or influencer monetization ecosystems.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $156000 - $316800 annually.


Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.


Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
