Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Edison, NJ Pay: $70,000 – $78,000 annually (based on experience) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm (with rotating on-call and weekend coverage)

Job Summary

This role will involve a mix of plant and field work, supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment across pumping stations, water storage facilities, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, HVAC systems, and facility equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
• Service chemical feed systems and monitoring equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and support system upgrades
• Inspect system protection and emergency equipment (generators, lighting, etc.)
• Maintain accurate repair records and parts inventory using CMMS
• Assist with facility upkeep and support emergency response efforts
• Follow all safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid New Jersey driver's license
• 6+ years of experience in industrial or mechanical maintenance
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot independently
• Experience with CMMS systems
• Safety-focused mindset (OSHA/HAZWOPER experience is a plus)
• Backgrounds in water/wastewater, chemical processing, or similar industrial environments are highly transferable
