Job Title: Pediatric Phlebotomist Job Description This role focuses on performing blood draws and venipuncture for pediatric patients in a physician group or patient service center setting. You work a consistent schedule from Monday through Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm providing compassionate and accurate phlebotomy services to children and their families. Responsibilities Perform blood draws and venipuncture procedures on pediatric patients with a high level of care and professionalism. Verify patient identity and follow proper specimen labeling and handling protocols to ensure accuracy and safety. Prepare equipment and supplies for blood collection, maintaining cleanliness and adherence to infection control standards. Communicate clearly and calmly with children and their caregivers to explain procedures and reduce anxiety. Monitor patients during and after blood collection, responding appropriately to any adverse reactions or concerns. Collaborate with clinical and laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed and specimens collected in accordance with facility policies. Support a patient-focused environment by demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect in all interactions. Essential Skills Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and blood draw techniques. Experience working with pediatric patients in a clinical or laboratory setting. Ability to follow strict protocols for specimen collection, labeling, and handling. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, caregivers, and healthcare staff. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a physician group or patient service center environment. Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting with pediatric populations. Ability to remain calm, reassuring, and patient when working with children who may be fearful or anxious. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patients and specimens efficiently. The environment is fast-paced and patient-focused, requiring adherence to clinical protocols, infection control practices, and safety standards. You use standard phlebotomy equipment and supplies, including needles, collection tubes, and specimen labels. The role follows a regular daytime schedule from Monday through Friday 8:00 - 5:00 Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
