REEVES | Skilled Laborer (Bridge Division)

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Skilled Laborer (Bridge Crew) working on the project in Rock Hill, SC location. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

• Shoveling dirt, sand, asphalt or concrete using short or long handle shovels
• Cutting or trimming trees and vegetation using axes, ditch blades, sling blades, chain saws or power weed trimmers
• Driving stakes or breaking pavement using sledge hammers, digging holes using hand-operated post hole diggers
• Operating hand-driven compaction devices, and brooming dirt and debris using hand brooms

These activities may take place at one or more of the following locations: asphalt plants, existing roads or streets under traffic, new roads and streets without traffic, various building sites and the office or shop facilities.

Ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
• Previous experience (preferred)
• Available to work nights (if needed)
• Driving License (preferred); must have reliable transportation to and from the job sites
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards

Periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime hours are expected. Must wear proper attire at all times including safety vests, safety glasses, long pants, above the ankle/safety-toed shoes. Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.

Physical Demands:

• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or walk; talk or hear; and taste or smell
• Stand and walk frequently
• Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device

Work Environment:

• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud
