With a team of approximately 50 healthcare professionals across our Charlotte and Monroe locations, we provide comprehensive pediatric services through an integrated care model that brings together specialists across multiple disciplines to support the whole child and family.

We are currently seeking two compassionate, motivated, and growth-oriented Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associates (LCMHCA) to join our Supervision & Advanced Training (SAT) Program.

Supervision & Advanced Training (SAT) Program

SAT Program Training & Professional Development

Participants in the SAT Program receive advanced training in:

• Child and adolescent psychopathology

• Comprehensive Diagnostic Intakes

• Psychological and developmental assessments used by professional counselors

• Collaborative family-centered treatment planning

• Evidence-based therapeutic interventions

• Individual, family, and group counseling

• Interdisciplinary pediatric mental health care

The program also offers specialized training opportunities in Play Therapy and Sand Therapy. Participants in the SAT Program will earn credits toward:

• Becoming a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy

• Earning the Foundational Certificate in Sand Therapy through the World Association for Sand Therapy Professionals

Continuing education opportunities, mentorship, supervision, and advanced clinical training are provided throughout the duration of the program.

Supervision & Mentorship Benefits

The SAT Program includes:

• Weekly individual supervision

• Weekly group supervision

• Advanced clinical mentorship

• Ongoing training and professional development

Over the course of the two-year program, the supervision and mentorship provided has an estimated value of approximately $50,000 based on standard supervision rates.

Participants are not charged for supervision services. This is a benefit of being a member of the SAT Program.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic intakes and develop individualized treatment plans

• Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group counseling services

• Provide play therapy and sand therapy to children and adolescents

• Provide regularly scheduled parent sessions

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, ethical, and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize treatment outcomes

• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case consultations, and supervision sessions

• Stay informed regarding emerging research, evidence-based practices, and current trends in pediatric mental health treatment

• Adhere to professional, ethical, legal, and clinical standards of practice

• Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute mental health concerns

• Support culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and family-centered care practices

Qualifications

Strong applicants will possess:

• Master’s degree in Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program

• Current North Carolina licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA)

• Clinical experience providing counseling services to children and adolescents

• Experience serving as the primary therapist for individual, family, and group counseling services

• Knowledge of and/or experience utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches

• Training and clinical experience in play therapy approaches

• Commitment to professional growth, lifelong learning, and ethical practice

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and rapport-building skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment

• Flexibility and adaptability within a dynamic clinical environment

• Knowledge of applicable behavioral health laws, regulations, and ethical standards
