Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is recruiting an Outpatient Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide care to a varied pediatric caseload from 0 through 13 years old. This full‑time position supports our multidisciplinary pediatric care team, including the Childhood Obesity clinic, Early Intervention, and Infant Mental Health. Responsibilities Evaluates patients referred to occupational therapy and to the Childhood Obesity clinic and Early Intervention. Performs evaluation according to each patient’s needs, physician recommendations, and specific program guidelines. Communicates evaluation results, treatment plans, and goals with patients and/or parents or caregivers. Provides home program activities to patients and/or parents or caregivers to ensure carryover to the home environment. Engages patients and/or parents or caregivers in treatment sessions. Delivers treatment to assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Designs appropriate and effective treatment plans while maintaining scope of practice at all times. Monitors progress of treatment goals through periodic observations and assessments. Conducts re‑evaluations when indicated. Consults with physicians, allied health professionals, and other team members. Participates in case conferencing meetings and program planning meetings. Facilitates training and presentations for staff, patients, and parents or caregivers when applicable. Communicates regularly with Referral Specialists, Case Management, Care Coordination, and Scheduling staff. Recommends and follows through with referrals to internal programs and to outside agencies when appropriate. Recommends infant/early childhood or mental health services when dyadic concerns arise. Completes all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and insurance requirements. Provides treatment at different FHCSD clinic sites to increase patient access to care. Requirements California State licensure as an Occupational Therapist. At least 2 years of occupational therapy experience; pediatric and early intervention (0‑3) experience required and preferred. Current National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and Registered OT status. Current certification in CPR (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training. Occasional travel between clinic sites and other locations is required. Valid California driver’s license, a vehicle, and proof of minimum required car insurance; acceptable driving record required.
