As a member of the team, you will collaborate closely with FOX Sports’ Engineering and Field Operations teams, designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network transmission systems that deliver mission-critical video, audio, and data signals from venues to broadcast and digital platforms.The ideal candidate brings expertise in networking and broadcast transmission technologies, a strong operational mindset, and the ability to perform under the demands of live event production. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role operating in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment aligned with live sports schedules, requiring flexibility for nights, weekends, and major events.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESArchitect, deploy, and maintain transmission paths for live sports events, including fiber, satellite, IP-based transport (SMPTE ST 2110 / 2022), and bonded cellular solutionsCoordinate and manage contribution and distribution workflows between venues, broadcast centers, and cloud environmentsProvide real-time operational support for live sports broadcasts, including rapid troubleshooting and escalation managementCollaborate with production, engineering, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless signal acquisition and deliveryMonitor network performance, signal integrity, latency, and redundancy across all transmission pathsDesign and implement failover strategies and redundancy plans to ensure high availability during live eventsSupport integration of emerging technologies, including cloud-based workflows and remote production (REMI) modelsMaintain documentation of transmission infrastructure, signal flows, and standard operating proceduresParticipate in on-call rotation and provide support during nights, weekends, and major sporting eventsWHAT YOU WILL NEED7+ years of experience in broadcast transmission, network engineering, or live production environmentsStrong understanding of IP networking concepts, including BGP, OSPF, multicast (PIM, IGMP), QoS, VLANs, and STPFamiliarity with streaming and transport technologies, multicast distribution, and packetized video/audio workflowsExperience supporting or deploying systems using SMPTE ST 2110, SMPTE 2022, AES67, or Dante is a significant plusHands-on experience with network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) in high-bandwidth environmentsProven ability to troubleshoot complex signal paths under time-sensitive conditionsDemonstrate ability to perform and analyze packet captures using tools like Wireshark or tcpdump.Understanding of redundancy models, QoS, and network reliability principlesKnowledge and practical experience with Arista switches and EOSStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production and engineering teamsNICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERExperience supporting Tier 1 live sports broadcasts (NFL, MLB, FIFA, etc.)Knowledge of cloud-based media workflows (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with remote production workflows and distributed control roomsScripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, or similar)Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) #Ll-CC1#Ll-Hybrid#DTCWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
