Inventory Clerk

The Inventory Clerk supports manufacturing operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, organizing materials, and preparing production kits. This role works closely with production, loading, and sales teams to ensure materials are available, properly stored, and accurately tracked to meet customer orders and manufacturing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all materials are stored in the correct locations.
• Conduct routine inventory and bin audits to verify inventory levels and accuracy.
• Receive components from production areas and place them into appropriate inventory locations.
• Review and prioritize open work orders and production jobs based on production needs.
• Enter inventory and job-related transactions into company systems and ERP tools.
• Print and verify job travelers, drawings, and supporting documentation for production jobs.
• Pull inventory according to work orders, part numbers, and required quantities.
• Assemble and deliver complete production kits to designated departments.
• Pull finished products and materials to support customer orders and shipping requirements.
• Provide inventory information and support to internal departments such as production, loading, and sales.
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform visual inspections of parts and materials to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Handle materials safely and efficiently, including organizing, moving, and staging items as needed.

Essential Skills

• Previous inventory experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Proficiency with basic computer functions and experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions.
• Strong basic math skills for counting, verifying quantities, and reconciling inventory.
• Ability to perform accurate visual inspections of parts and materials.
• Experience with inventory management activities such as cycle counts and bin audits.
• Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently, including inspecting parts and organizing stock.
• Capability to stand on feet for an entire shift and perform laborious job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with data entry related to inventory and production jobs.
• Familiarity with material handling practices in a production or warehouse setting.
• Comfort working with job travelers, drawings, and production documentation.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and orderly storage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with production, loading, and sales teams.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work involves standing for most of the day, performing labor-intensive tasks, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs. You will work around production areas, inventory storage locations, and material handling equipment, following established safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Casual, practical attire suitable for a manufacturing and material-handling environment is expected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
