Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a strong background in critical care and trauma. Ideal candidates will possess at least 2 years of experience with Cerner or Epic systems, as well as Level I or II Trauma experience. Candidates with 3+ years of experience in Level III Trauma at a facility with over 300 beds will also be considered.

• 1:4 in ER
• 1:5 in Medical-Surgical Holds
• 1:3 in ICU Holds

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Secure/CPI (nationally recognized and JACHO accepted)
• NIHSS
• TNCC

Required Skills:

• Trach care
• Vent care
• ICU drip care and maintenance
• Chest tube management
• Arterial line (art line) care
• Central venous line (CVL) management
• PICC line care
• Midline care
• Port care
• Foley catheter care
• Splint/Orthopedic device application and care
• BIPAP/Hi-Flow oxygen administration
• Continuous bladder irrigation

Support on the Unit:

• CNA (ratio: 1:12)
• Receptionist/HUC available
• Charge nurse present
• Phlebotomy services available
• IV/VAT Team support available
• Hospitalist services available

Technology and Equipment:

• Electronic Medical Records: Cerner
• IV Pumps: Plum 360
• Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Spacelabs

Orientation:

Travelers who are new to the facility or returning after a gap of over one year will undergo 24 hours of classroom training followed by 24 hours of hands-on training on the unit. The orientation for rehires will depend on their last date of employment with the facility.

Scheduling:

• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend or four weekend days per month if on block schedule
• Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday as per policy
• Approval of time off: Up to 7 days off can be approved, excluding blackout dates
• Shift Times: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, 3p-3a
• Schedule Cycle: 4 weeks
