Summary:

The Medical Receptionist Supervisor is responsible for managing front desk operations and supporting the reception team in delivering high-quality service to patients. This role ensures efficient scheduling, check-in/out processes, and communication with medical staff, while also providing leadership and oversight to the reception team.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Oversee and participate in daily front desk tasks, including patient check-in and check-out.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain appointment logs accurately.
• Handle patient inquiries, both in person and via phone, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Collect and process patient payments, including co-pays and outstanding balances.
• Monitor and replenish front desk office supplies as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise, mentor, and train reception staff to maintain consistency and quality in service delivery.
• Delegate tasks and ensure proper front desk coverage throughout the day.
• Address escalated patient issues or complaints, resolving them effectively.
• Monitor performance of reception team and provide ongoing feedback and support.
• Prepare and maintain reports related to reception operations and patient flow for management.
• Assist in implementing and enforcing office policies and procedures.
• Ensure team compliance with healthcare regulations and internal standards.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support business needs.

What You Need For This Job:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• Must reside in or near Anchorage, Alaska.
• Have general knowledge of EMR software and Outlook Programs
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, or feel and talk and hear. Ability to occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
