Position: Pipe Fitter 1st Job Location: Pascagoula, MS Hutco Branch: Moss Point, MS Rate of Pay: Range of $48.00 per hour and $180.00 Per Diem for those who qualify Description: Pipefitters are responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fitting utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements and blueprints. - Minimum 2 to 4 years verifiable marine or industrial pipefitting experience
- Must know Ship terminology
- Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
- Must be able to read marine blueprints and work standard and metric specifications
- Ability to layout, fabricate, fit, and install pipe
- Must be able to burn and bevel carbon steel pipe with hand torch
- Testing will consist of written comprehensive exam and hands-on testing to include: from a pipe detail drawing, an applicant must be able to fit up a pipe assembly.
- Must be able to figure a rolling 90, and 45 degree off-set and be able to fit flanges and valves
- Knowledge of setting and erecting units with proficiency in the use of Datum Lines is preferred
- Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blueprint reading skills is preferred
- Must pass drug test (HFT) and E-Verify
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, ascend and work at heights, under all weather conditions
