RN - Renal Med-Surg

Schedule

Self-scheduling with weekend requirements every other weekend.

Assignment Details

Minimum experience of 1 year required, first-time travelers accepted. Average daily census is approximately 48 patients, with a total of 49 beds available.

Requirements

• Current RN license in Georgia or a Compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience in renal medical-surgical care and pre/post hemodialysis management.
• Telemetry monitoring skills.
• IV, PICC, peripheral line care, and blood draw capabilities.
• Knowledge in phlebotomy and blood product administration.
• Experience with oxygen delivery systems including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP basics.
• Feeding tube care, wound care (including wound VAC), and PCA management experience.
• Familiarity with the Epic charting system is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a renal med-surg setting.
• Monitor patient telemetry and vital signs regularly.
• Perform IV therapy and manage PICC lines as required.
• Administer oxygen and manage respiratory care as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care planning.
• Utilize rapid response and code team protocols when necessary.

Compliance / Notes

Orientation includes 12 hours of onsite training; additional non-billable orientation hours may vary based on contract length. Full compliance required to start on time, with onboarding documents due the Tuesday prior to the start. The flu vaccine is required, with exemptions accepted for medical or religious reasons. Travelers may be scheduled to work major holidays that fall during the assignment.
