Work Environment

Your workplace will be a well-equipped Surgical Center located in the heart of Plano, Texas, a vibrant and growing community. Here, you will work alongside experienced healthcare professionals committed to a collaborative practice environment. Your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, encompassing both outpatient and inpatient settings. This onsite role allows you to engage directly with patients while flourishing in an integrated healthcare system that values teamwork and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients by performing comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and obtaining detailed medical histories to inform treatment decisions.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate a range of laboratory and diagnostic tests to accurately assess patient health needs and inform care strategies.
• Prescribe and administer medications and therapeutic treatments, adhering to established protocols while considering efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, utilizing evidence-based medicine and guidelines to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on illness management, medication regimens, and health promotion strategies to enhance patient autonomy and wellness.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient treatment plans and progress, ensuring timely consultations and referrals when necessary.
• Engage in consultation-level services addressing conditions within the specialty, managing care in varied healthcare settings beyond just primary clinic environments.
• Perform delegated invasive procedures as outlined by your supervising physician, ensuring competency and adherence to best practices.
• Be prepared to extend patient care duties beyond regular hours to meet department needs, ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies is required.
• Current Physician Assistant certification and an active state license to practice in Texas.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably within a surgical or outpatient environment.
• Demonstrated competency in essential skills such as active listening, critical thinking, communication, and effective time management.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a Surgical Center or a similar fast-paced environment is advantageous, highlighting the applicant's adaptability and proficiency in varied patient scenarios.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to assist in accurate documentation and efficient workflow management.

Compensation and Benefits
