Sr. Principal Engineer, Process (hybrid)

Senior Principal Engineer leading pharmaceutical process technical workstreams at AbbVie's North Chicago site. Develops process methods, drives improvement initiatives, manages validation activities, and guides cross-functional teams on complex manufacturing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical workstreams and define actionable process methods and analyses
- Design site-level processes by establishing operating ranges, critical parameters, and acceptance criteria
- Conduct process validation, troubleshooting, and deviation investigations with corrective action documentation
- Guide engineers through technical decisions via working sessions and action tracking
- Deliver high-quality technical outputs with documentation, results validation, and stakeholder communication
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- 8+ years pharmaceutical industry formulation experience
- Knowledge of engineering standards and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated leadership and team building capabilities
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Excellent communication with multiple management levels
