Chief Medical Officer

Chief Medical Officer (CMO)Southwest Care Center is seeking an experienced, collaborative physician leader to serve as our Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This executive leadership role combines strategic clinical leadership with direct patient care in a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to diverse communities.Provide executive leadership for medical services and clinical operations.Maintain an active primary care patient panel while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.Lead quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety and clinical excellence.Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and standards of care.Mentor, support, and evaluate physicians and advanced practice providers.Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, provider recruitment, workforce development, and service expansion.Oversee clinical quality metrics, population health initiatives, and regulatory compliance, including HRSA, CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, DEA, and New Mexico Medical Board requirements.Promote team-based, integrated care in collaboration with nursing, behavioral health, pharmacy, case management, and other clinical disciplines.Champion effective use of the electronic health record and continuous workflow improvement.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and exceptional patient-centered care.Southwest Care Center is an equal opportunity employer.
