Job Title: Medical Billing Associate

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Salary: $20 to $22.5 per hour

Job Overview:

A Medical Billing Associate plays a crucial role in healthcare facilities by ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical bills and insurance claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of medical billing procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Review and verify accuracy of billing and claims submissions

- Follow up with insurance companies and patients on unpaid or denied claims

- Process payments received and update billing records accordingly

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations

- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries

- Stay up to date on changes in billing regulations and coding practices

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred

- Proven experience in medical billing and coding

- Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines, medical terminology, and coding procedures (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)

- Proficient in using billing software and electronic health records systems

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
