Job TitleOur Mission Positively transforming learning and life outcomes for students through educational justice, equity, and excellence.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and fundamental accounting and internal-control practices.Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and prepare accurate financial reports.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and spreadsheet organization, and the ability to learn and effectively use the District's financial/ERP systems.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and detailed financial records.Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with employees at all organizational levels.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.Professional accounting experience in a school district, governmental entity, public accounting firm, or other complex organization.Knowledge of governmental and fund accounting, including GASB standards and Illinois school district accounting practices.Experience with school district financial reporting, grants, audits, capital projects, fixed assets, payroll accounting, or budget administration.Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP), financial management, or school business software.CPA, MBA, CSBO endorsement, or other relevant professional credential.CompensationThe entry level base salary for this position is expected to be $85,000 plus highly competitive benefits, including 100% Board-paid IMRF contributions and 100% Board-paid employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance. There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance. Additional compensation above the base is offered for those with previous successful experience.
