Maintenance Technician / Handyman (55+ Active Adult Community)

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and customer-focused Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join our team at a thriving 55+ active adult community. The ideal candidate will be experienced in general maintenance, unit turns, preventative maintenance, and resident service requests. This position requires excellent communication skills, patience, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform light plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Complete light electrical repairs and troubleshooting
- Prepare apartments/units for new tenant move-ins
- Conduct painting, touch-ups, and general repairs
- Assist with HVAC maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Complete general cleaning and grounds upkeep duties
- Set up and break down community events and activities
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents, staff, and vendors
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, handyman, apartment maintenance, or facilities experience preferred
- HVAC experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance equipment and supplies
- Dependable, organized, and self-motivated
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Patience and professionalism when working with senior residents
