Director of Major Gifts

About the Role We are seeking a strategic fundraiser and passionate relationship builder who can connect donors to our mission and inspire transformational giving. Responsibilities Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies Conduct donor meetings, site visits, and engagement opportunities Serve as an ambassador for The Arc's mission and impact Maintain accurate donor information and engagement records within the CRM system Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals Identify, research, and qualify new major gift prospects Develop compelling proposals, presentations, and funding opportunities Partner with executive leadership and board members on donor engagement and solicitation efforts Donor Stewardship Ensure timely acknowledgment and recognition of major gifts Develop stewardship strategies that strengthen donor retention and long-term engagement Coordinate donor visits, program tours, and special engagement opportunities Provide meaningful impact updates and reports to donors Strategic Collaboration Collaborate with the President & CEO and leadership team to achieve fundraising objectives Translate program needs into compelling donor investment opportunities Support fundraising campaigns, events, and organizational initiatives Track fundraising activity and maintain a strong donor pipeline Qualifications 3 to 5 years of successful nonprofit fundraising experience Demonstrated success securing major gifts and cultivating donor relationships Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills Experience using donor databases and CRM systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation CFRE certification Experience working in nonprofit organizations serving diverse populations Knowledge of major gift fundraising best practices and donor stewardship strategies Required Skills Donor cultivation and stewardship Relationship building and networking Strategic planning and execution Proposal and presentation development Effective storytelling and communication Organization and time management Collaboration and partnership development Pay range and compensation package Benefits include affordable comprehensive medical insurance, free dental and vision insurance, paid life insurance and disability coverage, retirement plan, paid holidays, vacation, and PTO, and bonus days off during the week before New Year's Day.
