This role ensures a safe and efficient workplace while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and food safety practices.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate forklifts and transport equipment to move bins, fruit, packed product, and suppliesLoad/unload incoming and outgoing trucks, including grower shipmentsPrepare delivery receipts, shipping documents, and airway bills as neededInspect and perform minor repairs/adjustments on equipmentAssist with repairs and servicing of equipmentMaintain clean and safe work areas, following all safety and food safety proceduresSupport utility crew operations, including repair/maintenance of treatment binsQualificationsHigh school diploma preferred (not required)One year of forklift driving experience requiredPrevious experience in food handling or a manufacturing environment preferredAbility to read and follow instructions (written and oral)Strong teamwork, dependability, and adaptabilityPhysically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in cold/hot environmentsWork Environment & RequirementsPPE (hair net, smock, sleeves, long pants, non-slip footwear) requiredExposure to cold or hot environments and moving machineryMust adhere to Calavo's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Responsible for food safety and security awareness in daily duties** Per Union Agreement
