NP Child Inpatient Psychiatry Mental Health

Job Summary Serves as a full‑time Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider to provide care to patients requiring Inpatient Psychiatric Services. Provides Psychiatric care to patients on the Child & Adolescent Hospital Psychiatry Services (Child Consult Liaison (CCL) team, Pediatric Emergency Department (ED), and the Child & Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry units). Responsibilities include providing expert‑level clinical care and coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care delivered. Observes and evaluates patients, orders appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies, arranges for referrals, testing, consultation, and therapeutic services and maintains outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians and all members of the health care team. Work evenings and overnights. Flexible hours. Must be a strong communicator and able to develop an effective partnership with providers, staff and all stakeholders, regardless of their cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds. Minimum Qualifications NYS licensed/registered Psychiatric NP required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have Master’s Degree, NPI number, DEA certification, medical malpractice insurance and be Medicare enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN). Eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC prior to hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Pediatric Psychiatry preferred. Inpatient Psychiatric experience preferred. Work Days May include: Day, evening, weekends, overnights and on call shifts. Compensation: L5-L6: $99,000 - $165,000. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
