As our Accounting Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial operations that help power our mission of creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals of all abilities.If you're organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with both numbers and people, this is an excellent opportunity to build your accounting career while making a difference in your community.What You'll DoAs an Accounting Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization by ensuring payroll, invoicing, and accounting processes are completed accurately and on time.Responsibilities include:Process weekly payroll and maintain payroll recordsReview and resolve missing or inaccurate timecard informationProcess payroll deductions, garnishments, tax withholdings, and employee changesRespond to payroll questions and employment verification requestsProcess weekly customer invoices and resolve billing discrepanciesApply daily cash receipts and research unapplied paymentsAssist with customer collections on outstanding invoicesReconcile staffing vendor invoicesPrepare reports and maintain accurate financial recordsProtect confidential payroll and financial informationSupport the Finance Department with additional accounting projects as assignedWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is dependable, highly organized, and enjoys working in a collaborative office environment. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree in Accounting or enrollment in an accounting program preferredOne to two years of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or related office experience preferredStrong mathematical aptitude and attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience working with ERP or accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) experience is a plusExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretionValid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insuranceWhy Opportunities, Inc.?For more than 60 years, Opportunities, Inc. has been creating opportunities through employment, manufacturing, and community partnerships.
