Mammography TechnologistWork Location: Manhattan Beach, CA, USAWork Schedule: Weekend shifts from 7:00am - 7:30pmSalary Range: $55.38 - $73.00 HourlyEmployment Type: 2 - Staff: Career Duration: IndefiniteJob # 33424Under the direction of the Breast Imaging Manager and Medical Director, the Mammography Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic and screening mammography using a variety of mammography equipment. The technologist provides compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with departmental, hospital, and regulatory standards.Essential Duties:Perform digital mammography examinations and assist the Radiologist with procedures as needed.Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, address questions and concerns, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout the visit.Review imaging requests for appropriateness and coordinate examinations with other departments and services as needed.Follow established MQSA, quality assurance, quality control, and radiation safety standards, including maintaining accurate documentation and tracking required data.Maintain accurate records, ensure requisitions are complete, and appropriately document procedures performed.Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area and monitor supply levels to ensure adequate inventory.Inspect equipment and report maintenance or repair needs; ensure equipment is functioning within established safety and performance standards.Follow infection prevention, health and safety, confidentiality, and departmental policies and procedures.Provide first aid and appropriate assistance in the event of a patient emergency until additional support is available.Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and coworkers while demonstrating a commitment to excellent customer service and the Health System's C-I-CARE standards.Float between UCLA Health Breast Imaging Centers and participate in rotating shifts as needed.*Please ensure your resume and application includes ALL relevant certifications and licenses. Any applications missing these requirements will not be considered*CRT (R) (M) Mammography license – requiredBLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross – requiredARRT (M) license within one year of hire – requiredAt least 1 year of experience in Breast Imaging – requiredAt least 1 year of DEXA experience – preferredBreast Ultrasound experience - preferredAssociate's Degree or Higher – preferredAbility to identify and recognize contraindications for exams. (Radiology Only)Ability to prioritize work, handling multiple tasks to completion, within the time allottedAbility to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patientsExcellent interpersonal skills effectively and diplomatically with patients, visitors, hospital staff, physicians, and otherKnowledge of medical terminology, with ability to distinguish between- types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
