About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Cardiac experience Strong critical care experience Description: This position is not an automatic offer. Cardiac experience is required. The unit has 32 beds with a patient ratio of 2:1. Student nurse externs are available as techs. A unit secretary is available Monday through Friday from 07:30 to 15:30. Equipment includes Hill-Rom beds and Phillips telemetry monitors. The documentation system used is Meditech. Schedules are created in four-week increments, with 3-4 weekend shifts required per scheduling period. Floating to other units may be necessary depending on the unit census. There are no specific patient experience requirements. Advanced skills needed include PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred. Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertion, Swan insertion, and intubations. Dress code requires scrubs in galaxy blue, red, or black, with scrub jackets or vests only. The unit is known for excellent teamwork and engaged staff. There is a growing program specializing in cardiogenic shock patients. 12 beds are designated for cardiogenic shock patients. Awards and recognition include a Nurse Practice Council and Daisy Award Recipient.
