Electrical Engineer

Position Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, improving, and ensuring the reliability and safety of all electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.

* Ensure electrical equipment operates safely, reliably, and according to specifications.

* Troubleshoot PLC, VFD, motors, sensors, control panels, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems.

* Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

* Support production during electrical breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.

* Analyze recurring failures and lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.

* Manage electrical projects, modifications, installations, and equipment upgrades.

* Review electrical drawings, schematics, and control-system documentation.

* Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and company safety standards.

* Coordinate contractors and electrical service providers when required.

* Maintain critical electrical spare parts and recommend inventory levels.

* Support energy-efficiency initiatives and monitor electrical consumption.

* Train and develop maintenance technicians in electrical troubleshooting and safe work practices.

* Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.

* Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and EHS to achieve plant objectives.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

* 3–5+ years of industrial/manufacturing electrical engineering experience.

* Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motors, controls, instrumentation, and industrial power systems.

* Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.

* Experience with preventive maintenance and reliability programs.

* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

* Knowledge of electrical safety and applicable codes and standards.

* Strong communication, leadership, and project-management skills.

Leadership Expectations

The Electrical Engineer should take ownership of electrical reliability, prioritize risks based on production and safety impact, and ensure problems are permanently corrected rather than repeatedly repaired. The role should also help develop the maintenance team and drive continuous improvement across the plant.
