Senior Human Resources Business Partner

AGIS | West Hills, CA Full-Time | Exempt | Fully Onsite

Are you a strategic HR leader who thrives on partnering with executives, coaching leaders, and driving meaningful business outcomes through people? AGIS is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) to join our Human Resources team at our newer West Hills office.

This is a highly visible role that serves as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, helping shape the employee experience, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and support organizational growth. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking, sound judgment, strong employee relations expertise, and a passion for helping leaders and teams succeed.

What You'll Do

Strategic Partnership & Leadership Coaching:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers across the organization.
• Coach leaders on performance management, employee development, accountability, communication, and team effectiveness.
• Partner on workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design, and talent strategies.
• Support change management initiatives and organizational transformation efforts.
• Influence business decisions by providing practical workforce solutions and strategic HR guidance.
• Help foster a high-performance culture focused on engagement, development, and results.
• Employee Relations & Performance Management
• Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.
• Coach managers through performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
• Mitigate organizational risk through proactive guidance and consistent policy application.
• Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, feedback, and development planning.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture.

Organizational Development & Talent Management:

• Partner with leaders to identify talent needs and build organizational capability.
• Support leadership development, succession planning, and employee growth initiatives.
• Analyze workforce trends and provide recommendations to improve retention, engagement, and productivity.
• Facilitate talent reviews and organizational planning discussions.
• Support programs that strengthen employee engagement and career development.
• Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with a strong emphasis on California employment law.
• Provide guidance regarding wage and hour compliance, accommodations, leaves of absence, and workplace regulations.
• Conduct investigations and compliance reviews while ensuring fair and consistent practices.
• Maintain accurate employment documentation and employee records.
• Stay current on employment law changes and HR best practices.

HR Operations & Strategic Projects:

• Lead HR initiatives designed to improve organizational effectiveness and employee experience.
• Analyze workforce metrics and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Support the development and implementation of scalable HR programs, policies, and processes.
• Partner on HR technology enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic HR planning and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Minimum 3+ years supporting leaders in an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, Employee Relations, or similar HR leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance requirements.
• Significant experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
• Experience coaching leaders on performance management, employee development, corrective action, and organizational effectiveness.
• Experience supporting both exempt and non-exempt employee populations.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies to business objectives.
• Excellent communication, influence, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience utilizing HRIS platforms, reporting tools, and workforce analytics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
• Experience supporting multi-state employers.
• Experience partnering directly with executive leadership teams.
• Experience leading organizational change initiatives.
• Experience developing leadership development and talent management programs.
• Advanced knowledge of workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design

Working Conditions:

• This position is fully onsite at our West Hills headquarters.

• Fast-paced environment requiring sound judgment and strong prioritization skills.
• Frequent use of HRIS systems, reporting platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Occasional extended hours may be required to support business needs, investigations, organizational initiatives, or critical projects.
• Daily and consistent attendance required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and document preparation.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to review and interpret documents and information on computer screens.
