Design Engineer – Electromechanical / Advanced Packaging

Location: Orlando, FL (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $93.94/hour (OT after 40 hours)
Work Schedule: 4/10A – First Shift
Work Arrangement: Full-Time Onsite

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in electromechanical engineering, 3D Heterogeneous Integration (3DHI), advanced packaging, and microelectronics design. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading complex engineering projects, designing high-reliability electronic products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the engineering and production lifecycle.

Note: This is an engineering design role, not a CAD/drafting-only position.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related STEM field. A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Electromechanical Engineering or a related discipline without a degree.
• At least 11 years of relevant experience in the following areas:
• • 3D Heterogeneous Integration (3DHI)
  • Advanced electronic packaging
  • Microelectronics design
  • Technical or project leadership supporting high-reliability electronic product manufacturing
  • CREO modeling and electromechanical system design
  • Engineering project management across the complete product lifecycle
  • Project scoping, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, progress tracking, and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Cross-functional collaboration across multiple teams and locations
  • Capturing and documenting derived and flowed requirements for electromechanical designs
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop multichip packages, package substrates, integrated heat spreaders, stiffeners, attachment mechanisms, and thermal management systems.
• Support thermal dissipation, structural integrity, and mechanical reliability of advanced electronic packages.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and multiphysics simulations for thermal cycling, power integrity, electrical performance, mechanical stress, shock, and vibration.
• Develop and execute packaging qualification plans in accordance with applicable JEDEC and MIL-SPEC standards.
• Conduct failure analysis of electronic packaging components, including solder joint failures, delamination, and substrate warpage.
• Implement corrective actions and recommend design improvements to enhance product reliability and manufacturability.
• Design and validate advanced circuit card packages, high-density circuit cards, cable assemblies, interconnects, printed wiring boards, and electronic card assemblies.
• Lead design assurance reviews, document technical issues, and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Perform thermal, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility analyses.
• Coordinate with systems, hardware, software, testing, and supply chain teams to deliver engineering solutions on schedule and within budget.
• Manage project risks, schedules, cost metrics, and earned value performance, providing status updates to leadership.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will combine advanced electromechanical design expertise with hands-on experience in microelectronics packaging, CREO modeling, thermal management, and engineering project leadership. Experience supporting high-reliability electronic products from initial design through qualification and production is highly desirable.
