Product Development Associate – Tory Burch Play a vital cross‑functional role in bringing beautifully crafted, high‑quality handbags to market while supporting key financial objectives. Partner closely with Design, Materials, Merchandising, Production, and external manufacturers to ensure seamless execution throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to launch. Responsibilities Development: Partner daily with Design to manage spec turnover and troubleshoot sample making from prototype stages to final handoff into production. Review all specs (BOMs / tech packs) for accuracy, completeness, quality, affordability, and compliance before issuance. Communicate with overseas manufacturing partners on spec queries, changes, and interpretations of design needs. Act as liaison between Design, Materials, and Merchandising teams to align and resolve issues during development. Recommend design enhancements or options that meet financial requirements and quality standards; escalates risks to management. Schedule, track, and report all requested samples; review samples to ensure faithful execution and note deviations. Maintain a comprehensive style tracker in the PLM system, capturing the full lifecycle from concept through production. Costing: Support the manager in cost analysis and estimations based on product direction. Partner with factories to identify cost drivers or changes impacting IMU, escalating to management as needed. Work with internal materials departments to recommend materials that are viable for the brand from a costing and quality standpoint. Product Integrity: Consider the product critically from a quality standpoint, equally with design and cost. Ensure all components and constructions meet performance and restricted substances requirements before production. Provide product information for customs compliance prior to production. Maintain internal systems with accurate updates at each development stage, preserving data integrity for partners and business needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of 2 years in fashion accessories product development, sourcing, or production. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with PLM systems. Strong organizational, interpersonal, time‑management, and negotiation skills. Solid understanding of retail math and its application to product decisions. Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, fluid, multi‑channel environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, accessible language. Strong understanding of the product lifecycle, including key timelines, milestones, and contingencies. Compensation $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 USD, based on relevant experience and location.
