Maintenance Team Lead

Job Responsibilities Communicates updates to the SAP system to include new PM requirements and completed PMs. Shares responsibility for all aspects of facilities and operational equipment maintenance, including conveyors, forklifts, compressors, stretch wrap machines, dock doors, etc. Coordinates correction of defective materials or questionable conditions as directed by the department manager. Attends Safety Committee meetings and is responsible for safety‑related action items. Provides support for facility lighting maintenance, both preventative and day‑to‑day. Conducts weekly and monthly inspections to remain in compliance with Environmental Health and Safety SOPs. Assists in facility‑related special projects. Provides day‑to‑day leadership to various maintenance personnel engaged in specific project activities. Prioritises operation after safety and strives to minimise downtime. Supports Maintenance Technicians, Sanitation & Battery Changer associates. Plans work schedules and assigns duties to maintain adequate staffing levels; ensures activities are performed effectively and can manage fluctuating workloads. Follows and monitors associates in Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in the SOPs and work instructions. Maintains fire protection equipment and facility programs and plans for fire and safety. Ensures a safety‑first environment and adherence to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses. Works flexible shifts and weekends as business requirements dictate. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED, required. Associate degree or technical school certificate, preferred. 2+ years relevant experience. Hands‑on trade experience, welding, PLC, electrical wiring and demonstrated machine shop proficiency, preferred. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of current trade‑related regulations and practices. Ability to operate and work on all MHE equipment. Basic knowledge of electrical controls and use of electrical measuring devices. Logical task organization skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals. Analytical, evaluative, and objective critical‑thinking skills. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings. Ability to recommend appropriate repair strategy. Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and controls, conveyors, and material handling equipment. Work Environment The noise level is moderate to loud. There will almost always be exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to precarious situations and potential temperature excursions. Occasionally the position will have exposure to fumes/airborne particles. We require a minimum of 4 days of in‑office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work‑life balance.
