Renewable Energy Responsibilities The Service Technician will perform installation and maintenance of DC power systems in telecom, UPS, and utility markets. Duties include: Installing batteries, rectifier battery plants, ironwork, and cable racks according to Zone 4 requirements. Upgrading and replacing DC power plants, primary and secondary distribution equipment (PBDs, BDFBs, BDCBBs), inverters, and converters. Running power cable, lug crimping, lacing, and taking voltage and gravity readings. Performing AC power work from 120 V single‑phase to 480 V three‑phase. Maintaining open and positive communication with employees, departments, and customers. Traveling on a regular basis, including overnight trips, mostly during the week. Physical and Sensory Requirements Strength to lift a 50 lb. object without assistance, and items up to 150 lb. with assistance; slide up to 200 lb. Strength and dexterity to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, crouch, or twist as needed. Ability to use hand and power tools, climb cages, ladders, gantries, and catwalks. This is a safety‑sensitive position. Minimum Skill Requirements Understanding of lead‑acid battery operation. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and interpreting English. Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical manuals. Strong writing, general math, mechanical, and communication skills. Acceptable driving record; pass annual drug tests and a background check. Compensation $23.50 – $31.00 per hour, based on experience. Other Requirements DOT Medical Qualification Card required. Shift Times 1st shift: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (varies with travel and customer requirements; night work, overtime, and occasional weekends may be required).
