Details Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) within a Level III Trauma Center Care for a wide range of adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients Ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Medical/Surgical units Uses EPIC EMR for charting Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required Option for 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules Night shift does not rotate Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units Free on-site parking available Requirements Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted) AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU Must be able to read telemetry strips Telemetry competency required Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed Additional Information Provide direct patient care to critically ill adult ICU patients across a wide range of diagnoses Collaborate with attendings and residents who are present in the ICU around the clock Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston Local candidates residing within the radius will receive a rate 5% less than the standard travel rate Two professional references required for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-725421.
