Infrastructure Technician

Job Summary Responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks and pinpoint safety risks and precautions needed to eliminate those risks. Responsibilities Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as rules, conduit benders, Chicago Benders, and dual‑trigger bandsaws. Build closets (mount and install backboards), install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plastibond, and PVC conduit. Use mechanical benders and hydraulic benders (1 1/2” – 4”) to fabricate and install conduit supports. Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems. Assume responsibility for effective crew performance; provide necessary training, coordinate personnel, and schedule to complete projects. Fully complete all IES paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and other required documents). Adhere to and participate in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations. Complete other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and capable of creating, developing, and implementing project process improvements. Experienced in climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. Promotes company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Acts as liaison for interface with customer representatives. Possesses proven problem‑solving, critical thinking, and effective reading, writing, and oral presentation skills. Able to work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces; lifts up to 50 pounds and moves up to 75 pounds. Travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Regular attendance is mandatory. Tools Screwdrivers (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle‑nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves. Education & Experience High School diploma or GED equivalency. 0–2 years of experience as an electrician or in a related technical field, with demonstrated ability to supervise others. Proficiency with the listed tools. Proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
