Purpose

This position plays an important role in delivering accurate, timely, and reliable cost information that supports sound financial reporting, operational decision-making, and performance management across manufacturing operations. The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to maintain costing systems, analyze variances, support close and reporting processes, and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Metallus costing system, driving process improvements and ensuring accurate, consistent, and reliable cost data across products and operations.
• Perform costing setup for new parts and operations, partnering with Operations and Engineering to ensure timely and accurate system integration.
• Collaborate with various departments to establish and maintain cost standards in support of budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
• Analyze production costs and manufacturing variances, providing actionable insights to support operational and financial decision making.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly and ad hoc reports to support management analysis and business re-views.
• Support month end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ad hoc projects as assigned.
• Support quarterly and annual internal, external, and SOX audit requests by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with a focus on Excel.
• Experience booking journal entries, pulling data, distributing reports.
• Manufacturing Cost Accounting expertise a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, math, business, or related degree with at least 4 years of finance, math, or business adminstration experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, math, business, or related degree with at least 2 years of finance, math, or business adminstration experience.
