This role requires strong accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with a large ERP platform, preferably Oracle. The Senior Accountant will maintain the general ledger, support the month-end and year-end close process, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide key support during internal and external audits. This role also contributes to identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function.Specific Responsibilities:General Ledger ManagementMaintain and review the general ledgerRecord complex journal entriesReconcile accounts (bank, balance sheet, etc.)Month-End and Year-End CloseAssist in the month-end close processReview entries and adjustmentsPrepare balance sheet reconciliationsEnsure deadlines for financial reporting are metFinancial ReportingEnsure reports comply with accounting standards such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Analyze financial results and explain variancesPrepare monthly financial packAudit SupportCoordinate with internal and external auditorsPrepare audit schedules and supporting documentationAddress auditor questions and findingsProcess ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processesImplement new accounting systems or automation toolsImprove efficiency and accuracy in financial reportingRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong accounting knowledgeExperience working with a large ERP platform (preferably Oracle)Experience working with multiple entities and business segmentsStrong communication skills and attention to detailProcess optimization experienceExcellent Excel skills; Power BI is a plusRequired Qualifications:5-7 years of accounting and finance experience is requiredBachelor’s degree in finance or accountingCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferredWorking at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
