Part-Time Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) – Medical Weight Loss & Diabetes

Location: Wayne, NJ / Hybrid or Virtual
Schedule: Part-Time, 6–8 hours per week to start
Pay: $45–$60 per hour, based on experience

We are a small, patient-centered endocrinology practice in Wayne, NJ seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our growing medical weight-management and diabetes program.

Our practice has a strong focus on obesity medicine, medical weight loss, diabetes, insulin resistance, and metabolic health . A large portion of our weight-management patients are treated with GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications , including semaglutide and tirzepatide.

We are specifically looking for a dietitian with prior clinical experience who is comfortable independently counseling patients undergoing medical weight-loss treatment.

What You'll Do

• Provide individualized nutrition counseling for weight management, obesity, diabetes, prediabetes, and insulin resistance
• Counsel patients starting or currently taking GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications
• Help patients meet appropriate protein, fiber, hydration, and nutritional goals during weight loss
• Develop strategies to help patients maintain lean muscle mass and establish sustainable eating habits
• Help patients manage nutritional challenges associated with medical weight-loss therapy, including decreased appetite, nausea, constipation, and difficulty meeting protein or calorie goals
• Provide medical nutrition therapy for patients with Type 2 diabetes and other metabolic conditions
• Educate patients regarding carbohydrate intake, meal planning, portion sizes, and healthy lifestyle changes
• Collaborate closely with the endocrinologist and clinical team
• Monitor patient progress and provide ongoing follow-up
• Document visits appropriately in the medical record

Ideal Candidate

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN)
• Previous experience practicing as a Registered Dietitian
• Familiarity with EMR ( ecW)
• Experience in medical weight management, obesity medicine, endocrinology, or diabetes
• Experience counseling patients using GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP medications strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of diabetes and metabolic health
• Comfortable working independently
• Excellent patient counseling and communication skills
• Comfortable with both in-person and telehealth visits
• Interested in helping us build and grow our nutrition and medical weight-management program

Schedule

This position will start at approximately 6–8 hours per week , with significant opportunity to add additional hours as the dietitian's patient schedule grows.

Scheduling is flexible, although we would prefer someone who can provide some appointment availability after 4:00 PM .

Visits can be in-person at our Wayne, NJ office, virtual, or a combination of both .

This is an excellent opportunity for an RD who is looking for a flexible part-time position and would like to develop a long-term role within a growing endocrinology and medical weight-management practice.
