The Lead Quality Lab Technician leads and directs the testing process in the laboratory in support of manufacturing operations. This role focuses on testing raw materials and in‑process products, conducting quality audits, assisting with plant trials, and ensuring that all work areas remain safe, clean, and well organized. The Lead Quality Lab Technician also supports lab maintenance, documentation, and coordination with manufacturing teams to uphold consistent quality standards across all production processes.

• Lead and oversee the testing process in the quality laboratory for raw materials, in‑process samples, and finished goods.
• Review data logs from the manufacturing department to verify that consistent quality standards are met throughout production.
• Generate clear and accurate quality reports from the operating system for senior leadership review and decision‑making.
• Conduct chemical and physical property tests on raw materials and finished products using appropriate laboratory methods and equipment.
• Partner closely with employees and leaders in the manufacturing department to ensure strict adherence to established quality standards.
• Interact effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization to communicate quality findings and recommendations.
• Perform regular auditing procedures of the laboratory and manufacturing processes to confirm that all quality parameters and specifications are met.
• Maintain inventory and ordering of routine laboratory supplies to ensure uninterrupted testing and operations.
• Perform regular calibrations of equipment in the quality control department and document calibration activities in accordance with procedures.
• Complete proper documentation for all laboratory procedures related to raw materials, in‑process testing, and finished goods.
• Follow all documented procedures, standards, and work instructions within the quality department without exception.
• Adhere to all company policies, including safety requirements and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
• Evaluate and monitor production processes and product quality, identifying trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
• Exercise independent judgment within established policies and procedures, including the authority and responsibility to withhold materials or shipments when quality issues arise.
• Identify and implement strategies that help parties with differing or opposing viewpoints recognize common goals and collaborate effectively to achieve them.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments.
• Promote a culture of safety by consistently modeling safe behaviors and encouraging others to do the same.

• Previous experience working as a quality technician, process technician, operations technician, or in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with quality control and quality assurance practices in a production or laboratory setting.
• Practical laboratory experience, including conducting inspections, tests, and measurements on raw materials and finished goods.
• Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques and chemical testing methods.
• Ability to perform and interpret chemical and physical property tests accurately and reliably.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing data logs, test results, and quality documentation.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment within established policies and procedures, particularly regarding product release and shipment decisions.
• Capability to evaluate production processes and product quality to identify nonconformances and recommend corrective actions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with manufacturing teams and interacting with all levels of the organization.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment properly in all work areas.

• AS or BS degree in a scientific or technical field is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED combined with previous technical or manufacturing experience is acceptable.
• Experience generating quality reports from operating systems or quality management tools for leadership review.
• Experience conducting laboratory and process audits to verify compliance with quality parameters and standards.
• Ability to maintain and organize laboratory supplies and equipment to support efficient operations.
• Experience performing routine calibrations of laboratory and quality control equipment.
• Strong organizational skills for managing documentation of procedures, test results, and calibration records.
• Ability to identify and implement strategies that bring together parties with different or opposing outlooks to work toward shared goals.
• Demonstrated ability to promote and support a strong safety culture, including health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
• Willingness and ability to adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved personal protective equipment, including respirators when required.

This role is based in a manufacturing and laboratory environment that requires strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures. The position operates on a 3rd shift schedule with 12‑hour shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m, following a 2‑2‑3 rotation. Candidates must be willing to travel to other facilities for training prior to full production, including trips primarily to Oklahoma City and Portland, as well as approximately one week in California. Work involves regular use of laboratory equipment, wet chemistry techniques, and quality control instruments, along with routine equipment calibration and audits in both lab and production areas. Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, and employees must be able to wear respirators when necessary, including maintaining a clean‑shaven face where the respirator seal meets the skin to ensure a successful fit test. This is a Permanent position based out of Franklin, IN.

The pay range for this position is $75712.00 - $75712.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
