Accounts Payable Clerk

LHH is partnering with a growing, established organization on the west side of Indianapolis to identify an Accounts Payable Clerk . This opportunity is open due to department growth and internal promotion , offering strong long-term potential within astable and collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounts payable function and ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process high-volume trade and non-trade invoices
  • Verify, code, and enter vendor invoices
  • Execute payments via check, ACH, and wire transfers
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain missing invoices or credits
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records
  • Assist with general accounting and administrative tasks
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure deadlines are met
  • Handle sensitive financial information with discretion
What You Bring
Required:
  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience (or relevant education)
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles (debits and credits)
  • Experience with Excel (pivot tables preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Professional communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience with ERP systems (Prophet 21 a plus)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Work Environment & Culture
  • Fully in-office role -best suited for someone who enjoys routine and structure
  • Manager provides direction but expects you to work independently day-to-day
  • Team-oriented environment where everyone contributes
