Director of Commercial Solar O&M

Location: Buffalo Grove, IL Salary: $120,000–$150,000/year We are hiring an experienced Director of Operations & Maintenance to lead multi-regional service operations supporting commercial solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) assets. This senior leadership position will oversee asset performance, preventive and corrective maintenance, service teams, warranties, customer relationships, and financial performance. Responsibilities Lead O&M operations for commercial solar PV and BESS assets Manage and develop Regional Service Managers and field teams Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and warranty claims Monitor system production, availability, SCADA/EMS, and asset performance Develop processes for dispatch, work orders, documentation, and billing Manage budgets, forecasting, service profitability, and operational KPIs Partner with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management teams Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure timely issue resolution Promote safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Qualifications 8+ years of O&M, field service, or asset management experience in solar, BESS, electrical infrastructure, or renewable energy Experience leading multi-site or multi-regional service teams Strong knowledge of commercial solar PV and BESS systems Experience with preventive/corrective maintenance, warranties, and asset monitoring Strong leadership, financial, and operational management skills Knowledge of OSHA and renewable energy safety practices Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly Preferred: Bachelor's degree, NABCEP certification, and experience with SCADA, EMS, SRECs, PPAs, and renewable energy asset management.
