Technical Business Analyst

Job Description

CDS Visuals is seeking a strong Technical Business Analyst to serve as the primary BA on a professional services project. This individual will act as the bridge between customers, business stakeholders, engineering leadership, and development teams, translating business and technical needs into clear, actionable, and testable requirements.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder management, and software delivery. Many current initiatives involve data, system integrations, and AI, so experience supporting data-related or integration projects is important. Manufacturing and CPQ experience are valuable but are not required, provided the candidate can quickly learn the business domain and work effectively in a complex technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Elicit, analyze, clarify, and document business and technical requirements from internal and external customers.

Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops with business stakeholders, asking probing questions, resolving ambiguity, and driving decisions.

Translate business processes and customer needs into:

Epics

User stories

Functional and technical requirements

Process flows

Acceptance criteria

Communicate requirements clearly to engineering, development, and technical teams.

Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Collaborate with engineering leadership and development teams on:

Backlog grooming

Prioritization and sequencing

Dependency management

User acceptance testing

Risk and issue escalation

Support data-related initiatives, including data integrations, data validation, and projects involving AI.

Map current-state and future-state processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical improvements.

Produce clear project documentation, including materials required for audit, approval, and stakeholder sign-off.

Validate that delivered solutions align with documented requirements and intended business outcomes.

Take ownership of the BA workstream from initial discovery through implementation and project closeout.

Operate effectively as the sole or primary BA across one or multiple projects.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.

Strong experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements.

Proven ability to create detailed user stories and measurable acceptance criteria.

Experience working directly with customers and translating their needs into technical deliverables.

Experience supporting data-related, data integration, or system integration projects.Exposure to data and AI initiatives.

Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and basic software architecture concepts.

Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or similar software delivery environments.

Experience with backlog management, requirements traceability, UAT, and stakeholder sign-off.

Proficiency with tools such as:

Jira

Confluence

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Excel

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when working with non-technical stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills with a proactive and self-directed working style.

Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or evolving project environments.

Comfortable managing requirements and stakeholder communication as the primary BA on a project. Experience in manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or B2B OEM environments.
