As a Compliance Specialist, you will:

• Solve complex regulatory puzzles: Apply your analytical skills to identify, evaluate, and resolve complex issues related to energy industry regulations, helping to ensure the integrity of our compliance programs.
• Shape critical compliance frameworks: Analyze and recommend improvements for the fundamental programs and procedures that guide our adherence to federal and regional energy reliability standards.
• Advise on program implementation: Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and staff across the agency, providing clear guidance on the proper implementation of compliance programs and policies.
• Drive process improvement: Conduct in-depth studies of a wide variety of work processes and operational procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and strengthen our compliance posture.
• Develop and implement strategy: Contribute to the development of key compliance strategies and implementation plans, helping to set priorities that have a direct impact on agency operations.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders: Engage with both internal teams and external partners to plan and coordinate compliance efforts, effectively communicating BPA's approach and ensuring alignment.
• Conduct audits and prepare reports: Assist in performing audits and analyzing data to verify compliance, preparing detailed reports, summaries, and briefings on your findings for key decision-makers.
• Build and maintain essential documentation: Play a key role in developing and maintaining the program documentation, policies, and procedural guides that are foundational to our compliance success.

This position is located in Portland, OR which boasts huge spans of amazing trees, foliage, landscape, and everywhere you look you can appreciate beautiful greenery! It is known as the most bike-friendly city in America, has a train system that greets you at the airport spanning across the city, and is home to the Portland International Rose Garden, the oldest in the country!
