Internal Medicine - Geriatrics Physician

Position Overview

We are seeking 1 Full-Time Locum Physician (or 2 Physicians sharing FTE coverage) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics for a rewarding assignment with the Cambridge Health Alliance Nursing Home Program in Cambridge, Massachusetts .

This role involves providing care across multiple skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, focusing on long-term care and short-term rehabilitation patients in a structured, team-supported environment.

Everett
Revere

Schedule & Coverage

Monday Friday
9:00 AM 5:00 PM
No call required
Assignment length: 3 6 months
Option: 1 full-time locum or 2 physicians sharing coverage

Facility Coverage Sites

Cambridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center (Cambridge)
Sancta Maria Nursing Facility (Cambridge)
Lighthouse Nursing Care Center (Revere)
Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at Everett (Everett)

Clinical Responsibilities

Manage short-term rehab and long-term care patients
Average census: 6 8 patients per day
Includes new admissions and follow-up visits
Everett location: long-term care only
Physician responsibilities:
- New admissions (within 7 days)
- Routine follow-ups every days or as needed
On-site NP support at each facility:
- Manages nursing calls, orders, and medication refills
- Completes initial admission assessments within 72 hours

Systems & Documentation

EMR platforms:
- Epic
- PointClickCare
Epic training required
Coding training required

Requirements

Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics background
Active Massachusetts medical license required
Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration required
Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
COVID vaccination required (initial series, no exemptions)
Experience in geriatrics or post-acute care strongly preferred
